Kitchen Manager is someone who oversees all kitchen operations. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Kitchen Manager to join our team! As a Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing our kitchen operations and staff members.
Job Description: Like general managers, kitchen managers are responsible for hiring and firing employees, buying supplies and ingredients, and ensuring quality. However, a general manager controls both kitchen employees and front-of-house employees, whereas a kitchen manager only manages back-of-house operations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervising food preparation and cooking process
- Training kitchen staff
- Managing kitchen staff
- Scheduling kitchen staff shifts
- Preparing menus
- Coordinating food orders
- Maintaining kitchen inventory
- Purchasing kitchen equipment and food supplies
- Keeping cost reports
- Ensuring pleasant customer experience
- Maintaining health and safety standards
- Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Excellent people skills
- Cool under pressure
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Restaurant Management
- Experience in as Kitchen Manager or Restaurant Manager
- Knowledge of a wide range of food recipes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong planning skills
- Ability to manage conflict
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent leadership skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
